Researchers at Neuronano Research Center (NRC) recently published an article about applying frozen, gelatin embedded needles to establish a low-friction coating. By introducing a layer of thawing ice onto the gelatin the surface friction decreases, which will mitigate damage caused by the implantation.

Our primary focus is to develop innovative electrodes for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), with the aim to improve the quality of life in people with various neurological illnesses. The plan is to use these solutions to alleviate difficult diseases and conditions such as Parkinson’s, various types of pain and epilepsy.
